What Yoga Means to Me...

My yoga practice has given me the space to move my body with love rather than fear or guilt.  Each movement is a celebration, a living prayer, a praise to where my body is at today. I invite you to an afternoon of exploration- experiencing yoga and movement as a way to love and celebrate your body!

Let’s dive deeper into the art of yoga…  To a place where the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects ALL begin to play, mesh, merge, come alive…

Discovering a yoga practice as a platform for:

  • Moving our body in a loving way
  • Mindfulness
  • Healing touch - reiki energy healing and massage
  • Spiritual connection
  • Positive body image
  • Gratitude
  • Liberation from body shame
  • Stress relief
  • Redirecting old belief systems
  • Self love

Every practice is an invitation. Your body, your practice. This means…

  • You move to find what feels good in your body, not to look a certain way or to “keep up”
  • You use as many or as few props and supports as you’d like
  • We consciously leave judgement (including self judgement) at the door
  • We play with movement and shapes and postures in a way that promotes connection to your body in a safe way
  • This is a trauma-informed space where you are seen, heard, and free to do (or not do) whatever you need in each moment

Wherever you are at in your journey- from experiencing body shame, to feeling neutral towards your body, to a yo-yo love/hate relationship, to a deep sense of love and respect towards your body, to anywhere in between- you are welcome.  This retreat invites you to come back home to yourself in a safe and supported setting.  You (and your body) are deeply deserving of love and kindness, exactly as you are today.

All bodies welcome.  All levels of experience are welcome.  Discover (or rediscover) what your yoga practice means to you.  Find what resonates with you and take home the tools, teachings, and practices to utilize in your daily life.  Let’s play!!

Tentative Schedule for the Day:

  • 1:00 pm ~ Opening Circle & Meditation
  • 1:30 ~ Yoga & Intuitive Movement Practice >> discover a new way of moving and flowing, without restriction, no ‘right or wrong’!
  • 2:30 ~ Overcoming Body Shame Workshop >> Teachings, reframes, and an open discussion on body image, body shame, and diet culture
  • 3:30 ~ Yoga for ‘The Feels’ & Journaling Practice >> Breath, meditation, movement and journaling practices which are helpful for feeling through, processing, and moving emotion- bulk up your healing tool kit!
  • 4:15 pm ~ Restorative Yoga >> Close our day with a gentle, supported practice to calm the nervous system and shift you into ‘rest and digest’ mode
  • 5:00 pm ~ Closing Circle & Meditation
  • 5:30 pm ~ Log Off

>> Location: You will join in this virtual mini retreat from the comfort of your own home.  We utilize a very easy to use video conference app called Zoom.  At this time of social distancing, it is so important for us to stay connected in the best way we can- online!!
